The Olympics this year takes place in Sochi. One thing that is a concern for the people going there is the security. There have already been a few threats of terrorism by some people in Russia. After the Boston Marathon bombing, there have been increasing concerns on topics like this. For example, the Fourth of July fireworks display on the Charles River had increased security and they took more precautions when it came to bringing bags and other personal items onto the river.
The Olympics is not only in a place where Americans are not the most comfortable, but also the security is an issue. There has been a few arguments in the American team as to if they should even go to the Olympics. In the past few weeks, there have even been shootings in schools in Sochi, making the American people more concerned for the safety of the athletes. But there should not be an issue if the security is good and the 2014 Winter Games should be fun to watch.

ReplyDeleteI'm glad that they had enough security there and thankfully nothing bad happened. I also attended the Fourth of July fireworks in Boston and I agree there definitely was a LOT more security then there has been in past years.
